History of T-Shirts, Team CD Tees,
and Other Stuff...
CD Tees was started in 1986 by Brian Walker in his parent’s garage. The company became known for its quality and innovation. Now owners Lorrie and Harry Eadon and “Team CD Tees” have taken another step in the evolution of the design and production of T-shirts.
But what’s really important is the answer to the question “Why decorate something you are going to wear?”
Originally, a T-Shirt was something you wore underneath (undershirt) another shirt and were almost always worn by men. But in the 1950’s several companies based in Miami, Florida, started to decorate tee shirts with different resort names and various characters. The first company in the market was Tropix Togs in Miami. From that start decorated T-Shirts have evolved to become vehicles for personal expression and walking billboards for both large and small companies and organizations.
Team CD Tees offers both screen printed and digitally printed shirts. Our sales and design engineers will help you decide what works best for your application. Generally, for short runs of less than 12 shirts on light colors, digital printing is more cost effective. Screen printing is preferred for longer runs and dark colored shirts.
Rick London writes: “The most popular form of designer tees today are silk-screened. But digital reproductions are becoming very popular and blend into the fabric and, to me, have more of a “real” look than a decal ironed-on look, but of course, it is a matter of taste.”
Indeed, from concept, through design, to production it is “a matter of taste.” Let Team CD Tees help you with those decisions to maximize the effectiveness of your message!!
